What to expect

For New born it is sometimes different to pick which outfit you want you baby to wear, and if the weather is changeable it is even worst. Sometimes you will need to change your baby four  or even five times a day. They do make a mess when feeding. So having a good choice of clothing is great , but can be expensive.  Bestdeal4baby can solve the problems of cost, either by purchasing direct from us and enjoying our great low prices, or by using our Swap Club, and exchanging clothing when you need to purchase larger sizes or different clothing for the changing seasons.

  • Your baby is now settling into a routine and keen to get moving – by starting to roll, sit and crawl anytime from 6 -12 months,
  • Your baby’s clothing needs to reflect these changes by being functional providing warmth and comfort but still allowing freedom of movement.

    What to expect continued

    • Once crawling starts at around 8-9 months their knees will need additional padding for protection. Try leggings/joggers or roll up trousers to make for easy crawling, or dresses with rib cuffs to help prevent tripping.

    • Remember, for sensitive dry skin use soft 100% cotton fabrics for comfort, breathability and to prevent unnecessary irritation.

    • Make sure clothing is still easy for nappy changing as your baby will be an excellent wriggler and will do anything to get away! Try having a few toys next to the changing mats to hand over at the right time to keep your baby amused for those few extra vital seconds.

    • Baby growers or Sleepsuits are still a firm favourite for sleep time. In winter try an all in one sleeper or a snoozie sleeping bag (from newborn to 36 months) - ideal for wriggly babies who kick off all their covers, but remember some babies run hot, meaning their body temperature is higher than normal and they feel the heat more readily. If this is the case keep a windrow open and use only light blankets or sheets. A baby that is too warm will not sleep anymore than a baby that is too cold.

    • Feeding time now starts to be a rather messy affair as your baby will love to feed themselves - so invest in a few super bibs, apron coverall or colourful tabards and try to go for outfits and colours that will hide the stains. It is no good putting your baby in a white top and then giving them spaghetti Bolognese. It’s messy and it stains, and once a stain is there it is very hard to get rid off. If your Baby clothes do get messy, soak them in a little warm water and laundry deterent before putting in the washing machine, so does help but stain do have to be fresh. If you have find an old stain that you have missed, tried spraying with a pre-soaker such as "Oxi Clean Laundry Stain Remover" it can be difficult to find in the shops but is well worth the hunt. It will remove most stains. Keep handy a good supply of clothes either muslin squares or terry clothes for wiping up any messy hands and faces.
